🌙 Pride & Prejudice 🌙

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Pride and Prejudice is THE novel that wraps you up in its charm while simultaneously making you squirm in nervousness from all the obstacles Elizabeth and Darcy overcome in their relationship just to finally reach each other’s hearts.

I’ll admit, I saw a lot of myself in Elizabeth Bennet 😭. Her refusal to take people at face value resonated with me in a way that felt almost too close for comfort. Like Elizabeth, I struggle to view people without that little filter of preconceived notions, and seeing how that trait plays out in her story felt both humbling and enlightening ✨.

Now, don’t get me wrong—Elizabeth is an incredible character. She’s independent, intelligent, and full of this fiery authenticity ❣️. But watching her relationship with Mr. Darcy unfold was truly agonizing. The tension between them, built on layer after layer of miscommunication and assumptions, made my eyes twitch 😂! I wanted to shake them both and scream, “Just talk to each other already!”

At the same time, it’s that complicated strategic style that Jane Austen uses to keep you invested through every misunderstanding, every stolen glance, and every painfully polite conversation. And so… I trusted Jane Austen and just kept reading though I was dying to skip some parts. But honestly, despite the frustrations along the way, I’m so glad I was able to revel in every sensation of the couple’s interactions 🩷🍀.
